The most capricious character of the popular vegetable crops is that of the sweet bell pepper.

The seeds germinate with difficulty, the crop is afraid of cold and diseases. But thanks to the efforts of breeders, the chances of gardeners for a rich harvest of this vegetable are only increasing.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", a scientist, agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about varieties of bell peppers that are resistant to cold and diseases.

Field Marshal

This is a popular variety of bell pepper in cooking. The fruits are rich red with a burgundy hue and are suitable for salads, baking, canning and freezing.

The bushes grow to a height of 60 cm and tolerate temperature fluctuations, diseases and pest attacks well.

Bears fruit until the first frost if grown under film.

The crop is mid-season; up to 10 peppers can be harvested from one bush.

Bagration

Bushes up to 1 meter high are simply made for growing in open soil – they are resistant to diseases.

The fruits are bright yellow, fleshy, the skin is dense, the taste and aroma are excellent.

Used for salads, canning and other dishes.

The average weight of one fruit is 200 grams. Up to 14 pieces can be collected from one bush.

Siberian Prince

The name speaks for itself.

The variety is early ripening, resistant to frost, heat, and tolerates temperature changes well.

The bushes grow up to 1.5 meters in height and require garters and formative pruning.
