Moniliosis affects not only apple trees, but also other fruit trees. There is no hope that severe winter frosts will destroy the pathogen.

The pathogen winters well in wood, and next year, if autumn treatment is not carried out, it will certainly remind of itself.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, reminded summer residents how to treat apple trees.

To combat the disease, summer residents are offered various options, including potions made from kerosene and laundry soap. But this will not solve the problem.

Integrated approach

1. It is necessary to collect all the affected fruits from the branches and those that have fallen to the ground. Mummified apples cannot be left for the winter.

2. Then carry out sanitary pruning, down to healthy wood, and burn all cut branches.

It is also important to carry out thinning pruning, since diseases often affect trees with dense crowns.

3. In advanced cases, we treat the foliage, tree crowns and soil in the trunk area with a solution (6-8%) of urea or copper-based preparations (3%). The fungus can survive in the soil.

4. It is important to remember that along with moniliosis, trees are often affected by scab or pests (codling moth, sawflies).

In this regard, it is necessary to carry out pest control treatment.

What to process with

In autumn, you can successfully combat the disease with the help of the preparations "Horus", "Topaz", "Skor" and others.

It is recommended to use "Aktara", "Iskra", "Fufanon" or another insecticide against pests.

With the same success, you can use the biological preparations "Lepidocid" against pests, and "Alirin-B", "Ecosad" or other preparations based on Trichoderma against rot.

After this, it remains to apply calcium fertilizer, which increases the resistance of trees to diseases and pests.

You can use complex fertilizers.
