Typically, the final stage of honeysuckle harvesting occurs in July.

Having collected all the berries, many summer residents begin to ignore the plant.

And this is a serious mistake, because honeysuckle bushes need serious support at the end of summer and also at the beginning of autumn.

During these periods, the owner of a country plot must perform several procedures, otherwise the next year's harvest will be much poorer.

Important recommendations were shared by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

Fertilization

After harvesting, honeysuckle needs to be fed twice: in the middle of the third summer month and at the end of the first autumn month.

During this period, the plant does not need a nitrogen component. But potassium and phosphorus will come in very handy.

A good option is to add superphosphate and potassium sulfate.

Proper watering

The gardener must water the honeysuckle bushes even after all the fruits have been collected.

If the end of summer and the beginning of autumn are very warm and with minimal precipitation, then the watering procedure should be performed once every 5 days. Each bush should receive approximately 25 liters of water.

Having completed the procedure, the owner of the summer cottage should loosen the soil and cover it with mulching material.

Trimming bushes

If the plant is already more than 5 years old, then after harvesting it should be cleared of excess branches - old, broken, weak.

The procedure should be planned for autumn.
