Wireworm is a very dangerous pest.

Fortunately, it does not cause any harm to humans.

But some garden and vegetable crops are vulnerable to beetle larvae.

Potatoes, carrots, radishes, strawberries, grapes, and corn often suffer from wireworms.

Therefore, the summer resident should not ignore the appearance of a pest in the beds.

You need to fight the beetle larvae. And if the area is small, you can do without using expensive preparations.

An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about an interesting method of combating wireworm.

How to Make Potato Bait

Take a potato and cut it in half.

One of the halves of the tuber must be “put” on a stick and buried in the garden bed where the pest appeared.

It is necessary to ensure that the upper part of the stick is located above the soil cover: so that the bait can be quickly found and removed at any time.

It is advisable to glue or tie something bright to the stick: it is possible that otherwise the summer resident will not find the bait he created.

The potato should be removed from the soil in 4-5 days. Most likely, there will be a huge number of larvae on the tuber.

Let us remind you once again: the method described above is suitable for small areas.

Earlier, summer residents were told about other measures to combat wireworms.
