Spring feeding is especially important in the life of perennial plants. At the very least, it allows them to regain their strength after winter hibernation. It also lays the foundation for the future harvest.
The main thing is not to miss and choose the right type of fertilizer in time - organic or mineral.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told what additives can be used in the spring.
Summer residents can choose specialized mineral fertilizers, can use organic fertilizers, and enthusiasts often use folk remedies.
Which fertilizer to choose
1. In spring, while the plants are still just gaining strength and not even blooming, you can safely use mineral fertilizers.
At this time, plants need nitrogen first and foremost, so you can use a solution of urea (25 g per 10 l of water) or ammonium nitrate in the same proportions.
2. When it comes to organic fertilizers, you have to choose between droppings and manure.
They are no less effective, but the inconvenience is that the components must not only be dissolved in water, but also the fertilizer must be allowed to sit for several days.
Wood ash is also used in dry form or as a solution.
3. Traditional methods involve the use of iodine or yeast.
In the first case, you need to add a drop of iodine to one liter of water, stir and use for spraying.
Or take two packets of yeast and two tablespoons of sugar per three liters of water. Let the mixture sit for one hour and use fertilizer for watering.
