It is enough to plant strawberries in the “wrong” place - and numerous problems with the growth, development and fruiting of the plant will appear.
It will be almost impossible to correct the mistake.
The formed berries will clearly not be of good quality: small and sour fruits will definitely not please the summer resident and his family members.
But if you don’t make mistakes when choosing a place to plant the crop, then there won’t be any problems with the harvest.
There will be quite a lot of berries. And all of them will please you with their size and sweet taste.
But where exactly in the garden should you plant strawberries to achieve the ideal result?
An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared a dacha secret.
What criteria does an ideal location for strawberries meet?
Firstly, a lowland is a bad choice. It is worth finding a flat or elevated area.
Secondly, you need to pay attention to the condition of the soil cover. The soil should be loose and fertile. There should be no weeds.
In addition, the pH value is important. The ideal range is from 5.5 to 6.5.
Thirdly, it is desirable to have fruit trees growing nearby. After all, strawberry bushes need protection from the wind.
Fourthly, you need to know what kind of plant the strawberry is "successor" to. The best options are peas, beans, dill and onions. Strawberry bushes will "feel" great in place of any of these crops.
Earlier, summer residents were told where in the garden they should plant a pear tree.
