If you, like some other summer residents, have decided to grow Chinese cabbage on your plot, be prepared for the fact that the crop may bloom actively, but no heads of cabbage will form as a result.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh listed the points, the violation of which is fraught with the flowering of the Peking cabbage.

Landing site

When choosing planting sites for Chinese cabbage, remember that it is a short-day crop. This means that it is best planted in partial shade or where there is very little sunlight.

Seeds

It is recommended to use only fresh seeds for planting.

Sowing time

Have you bought seeds? Carefully examine the packaging: somewhere here you will find information about the vegetation period, based on which you will have to choose the sowing time.

Soil

Make sure that the plants have loose, fertile, neutral soil.

Fertilizers

Due to the fact that this crop is demanding in terms of nutrition, organic and mineral compounds should be added to the beds in advance.

If we talk about mineral fertilizers, it is better to choose superphosphate, potassium and magnesium sulfates, a full set of microelements. Organic fertilizers are used during the growing season - you can use, for example, nettle infusion or diluted mullein.

Moisture

The Peking plant is also demanding of moisture in the soil, so do not forget about watering, which should be done without fanaticism, so as not to flood the root system of the plants.
