It is impossible to call spring pruning incorrect, if only because in spring you have to do sanitary or other types of pruning. It is important to do everything correctly.
Where to start
1. Start by inspecting the tree, determine the scope of work and cut off the shoots on the trunk, everything that has grown below the first tier.
2. Then remove diseased, damaged, frozen branches and shoots that thicken the crown.
3. The annual growth is also shortened. With normal care, the tree grows up to one meter in width and upwards.
But the development of a tree can be called correct when the roots and crown are developed proportionally. Therefore, about a third of the growth is removed.
After pruning, do not forget to treat with antifungal agents.
Copper-containing preparations are used for treatment. For prevention purposes, "Fitosporin", "Gamair" or their analogues.
