Many summer residents do not ask themselves about the negative consequences of high soil acidity levels.
That's why not everyone even checks the acidity level.
This is a big mistake, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, landscape designer and agronomist.
What consequences should you prepare for?
Soil poverty
Even if the soil is potentially rich in nutrients, the acidic environment will not allow crops to feed on them. In most cases, plants will not be able to "get" calcium, magnesium and potassium.
This, in turn, does not have the best effect on the quality of the harvest.
Pathogenic flora
Not everyone knows that an acidic environment contributes to an increase in the concentration of pathogenic microorganisms. As a result, cultivated plants begin to suffer from various fungal diseases.
Development
In general, acidic soil is not suitable for the full and high-quality development of most crops. An acidic environment is good only for some plants.
In all other cases, the harvest will be far from ideal.
