Many people know that growing tasty beets is extremely difficult and the successful result will not always depend on the variety.

As it turns out, care plays a decisive role in this issue.

In order to grow tasty beets, expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", landscape designer and scientist-agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises paying attention to four important factors.

What do they consist of?

Soil

Many people know that beets are not a demanding crop, but the quality of the harvest will be appropriate. If you choose a well-lit area with prepared soil, then the beets will grow well.

Distance

Beets should not be planted too close together: the harvest will be of poor quality. There should be at least five centimeters between the sprouts.

The furrows are placed at a distance of 25 centimeters from each other. But between the rows the distance can be up to 45 centimeters.

Thinning

It is important to understand that beets with weak leaves will most likely not yield a good harvest. Therefore, it is necessary to thin out the seedlings at least twice during the early development of the crop.

Top dressing

It is worth remembering that the taste of beets will be affected by additional feeding. Therefore, the plant should not be left without additional feeding.
