Almost every plot of land has a pear tree – a favorite delicacy for adults and children.
Some plants take root quite easily and do not require special care. But the pear is a rather capricious plant, requiring skills and abilities from the gardener.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about planting pears.
This crop is considered capricious and requires due attention at all stages of growth.
But knowing some secrets, any gardener can grow a tree that will produce juicy, aromatic fruits.
The crop can be planted both in autumn and spring. Each period has its pros and cons.
Experienced gardeners believe that spring is the best time for planting, since the tree will get stronger and survive the winter well before the frost.
The best time for planting is April. The place where the tree will grow is of no small importance. It should be a well-lit place where the pear will be in the sun for a long time.
In addition, the area should be protected from drafts. There should be no mature trees nearby that will draw out nutrients.
The hole for spring planting is prepared in the fall. This is done so that the soil settles and compacts. If you do not wait for time, the soil will crumble and the seedling will die.
The size of the planting hole depends on the length of the roots. Usually, a hole of 1x1.5 m is dug, provided that the soil on the site is fertile.
Otherwise, the hole is dug deeper to put a fertile layer of ash and humus on the bottom. Then a peg is driven into the middle, which will later serve as a support for the young tree.
In addition, notches are made on the walls of the pit, through which additional air penetrates.
For the root system, a special solution is made, consisting of a mixture of water, soil and ash.
Before planting, dip the planting material into a bucket of mixture for a while. Then pour the remaining mixture into the bottom of the hole and break raw chicken eggs, which will provide the seedling with nutrients in the future. Then carefully lower the tree, cover it with soil and compact it tightly.
The young tree is watered generously and a mound of earth is made around the trunk to provide the plant with the necessary moisture.
In order for the tree to take root, grow well and give a rich harvest, it is necessary to follow the advice of experienced gardeners. In this case, in a few years the whole family will be provided with fragrant fruits.
