It is difficult to imagine a country plot without apple, pear and other fruit trees.

Therefore, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh believes that it is high time to talk about caring for trees growing in the garden, which, in her opinion, includes not only timely fertilizing and watering.

An equally important aspect is the “improvement” of tree trunk circles, thanks to which the summer resident will be able to improve the growth of plantings and increase their yield.

A suitable plant for this procedure is the horned lotus.

Despite the fact that the lotus is not very popular yet, this does not make it less valuable as a forage crop and a wonderful honey plant.

During flowering, the plant roots release alkaloids into the soil, which are not poisonous to earthworms, but are destructive to wireworms and May beetles.

In addition, nitrogen-fixing bacteria are known to settle on the roots of legumes, which include the horned lotus. These bacteria help enrich the soil with nitrogen, which in turn provides fruit trees with access to the nutritional element they need.

Finally, thanks to the developed root system of the lotus, the soil becomes looser and more saturated with oxygen, which, as you understand, helps to improve its structure and nutritional value.

In the fall, unmown grass rots and thus provides food for earthworms and other beneficial microorganisms in the soil.

Earlier, the expert listed the mistakes that summer residents make when sowing peppers for seedlings.
