Used tea or coffee is often used in gardening or vegetable growing - for example, experienced gardeners add them to the soil mixture when planting seedlings.
But what to do if you find that your supplies are covered in mold? The answer was found by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
To begin with, a minimum of theory.
Typically, the mold in a cup of tea or coffee is fungi, penicillium and aspergillus.
Both are important for the soil and, therefore, the plants in it.
Therefore, do not rush to throw moldy tea and coffee into the trash can.
Instead, you can send such “raw materials” to compost or under the roots of plants in the beds.
Because such mold is quite allergenic to humans, it is not worthwhile to specially cultivate it. But if it does happen, do not get rid of it, but use it usefully on the site.
