We can definitely congratulate summer residents on the beginning of the new season and the start of the sowing campaign.

Although the time has not yet come for key vegetable crops, flowers and seedlings for the early harvest are already being slowly sown.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to protect seedlings from diseases and grow healthy seedlings.

We are talking about a simple and accessible additive that is added to the soil.

This is an eggshell that saturates the soil with useful substances and at the same time makes the soil looser.

Another useful quality of this fertilizer is that the shell protects against the development of blossom-end rot and other diseases.

The supplement will last for the entire time while the young plants are waiting to be transplanted into the beds or greenhouse.

How to proceed

1. Only shells from raw eggs are suitable, not boiled ones. First, you need to dry them in a warm place.

2. Then you need to remove the dry film that has formed inside.

3. When ready, the shell is ground in a coffee grinder, mortar or other convenient way.

4. When adding eggshell powder to the soil, stick to the proportion of two tablespoons for every two liters of finished soil.

Summer residents claim that tomato and pepper seedlings will grow in such soil and be incredibly healthy.

Earlier we talked about how to properly feed seedlings with ash.
