While summer residents have time to remember the intricacies of sowing seeds for seedlings, they need to think not only about tomatoes, peppers and eggplants, but also about cabbage.
As in any other case, the goal is to grow strong and healthy seedlings.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to grow cabbage to the envy of everyone.
Priming
Both store-bought and homemade soil will do. In the latter case, you need to mix equal parts of humus and turf soil and add 1 tbsp of wood ash per kilogram of the finished mixture.
Seeds
The seeds need to be soaked in warm water (about 50 degrees Celsius) for 20 minutes, then allowed to dry and planted to a depth of 1 cm.
Water through a fine sieve and then cover with film.
Temperature
Until the shoots appear, you need to keep the container with soil at 18-20 degrees Celsius.
Then they are kept at 14-18 degrees during the day and 10-12 degrees at night.
Light
Cabbage seedlings are illuminated for 14-15 hours a day. It is important not to allow dense sowing, otherwise the shoots will begin to stretch out and weaken.
Watering
It is carried out frequently and moderately. The soil should not be overdried, but it should not be wet either.
Fertilizer
Complex fertilizers are used. Top dressing is carried out 12 days after picking, then again after 2 weeks. The last top dressing is 2-3 days before transplanting.
As a result, strong seedlings with 5-6 developed leaves should grow.
