1. There is no need to save toilet paper rolls in order to spend the whole day cutting out disposable containers for sowing.
Firstly, you can waste a lot of time on a useless activity.
Secondly, the cardboard containers will get wet pretty quickly, and due to the dampness, mold will appear, and the seedlings will have to be replanted ahead of schedule.
2. Chicken egg trays are not much better in this regard. No one forbids growing green onions in them, but nothing more.
3. Citrus peels, eggshells and tea bags - all of these wastes can be used as containers only on an experimental basis.
If you use them to manage your entire seed fund, the result could be very disappointing.
What is the reason?
The reason is that most cultivated plants require containers of appropriate volume.
For example, the most capricious of the nightshade family is bell pepper. It is sown immediately into separate 0.7-liter cups.
For eggplants you need a container with a capacity of about a liter per root.
Tomatoes require a 0.5 liter container for planting in open ground, and 0.7 liters for greenhouses.
The rest of the vegetable crops grow in containers with a volume of 0.4 liters.
