One of the problems in caring for indoor plants is fertilizing. Some gardeners actively use homemade additives, which they prepare from food waste.
If plants have begun to wilt due to a lack of sunlight or cold air from a window, you can support them with simple additives.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told us how to feed indoor plants in winter.
Eggshell
Wash the eggshells, dry them, grind them into powder and use them when planting (1-2 tbsp.) in the planting hole.
Infusions are also prepared from the shells and used to water plants.
Rice water
After cooking rice, some nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron and other useful substances from the grain remain in the water.
Water as a fertilizer is used as a stimulant, it improves the structure of the soil and repels pests.
It is carried out once a month. There is no need to salt the rice when cooking.
Coffee grounds
Another ingredient that will benefit flowers and ornamental crops. It makes the soil looser and contains nitrogen.
But the grounds are not suitable for succulents and cacti.

It contains potassium, calcium, phosphorus and other important microelements. The peel is soaked in warm water for several days and used for watering.
Some housewives boil banana pieces in water and let the broth sit for a couple of days.
