When carrying out autumn work on the plot, novice gardeners often make mistakes that lead to severe depletion of the soil.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, tells us what you shouldn’t do on your plot in the fall.
How not to spoil the soil on the site
Some summer residents consider it necessary to replace the soil in the greenhouse every autumn.
Also, many gardeners are convinced that it is necessary to remove a lot of soil. This is a mistaken opinion.
The soil in the greenhouse is changed thoroughly no more than once every five to six years, removing 12-15 centimeters of soil.
If you think it is necessary to change the soil annually, remove no more than 5 centimeters of soil.
Also, under no circumstances should the soil be left bare for the winter. Be sure to plant green manure so that the soil does not erode or dry out.
