What plants need to be covered in autumn
The first thing you need to do is cover heat-loving plants – strawberries, irises, roses, begonias, dahlias, phlox, gladioli.
Their above-ground part begins to freeze already at -5 degrees. If the night temperature drops to -3-4 degrees, it's time to cover.
Use spunbond or lutrasil as a covering material.
It is also necessary to cover crops planted in the winter with lutrasil, film or spruce branches.
