Before planting walnut trees in your garden, you should think carefully.
Planting this tree is fraught with problems, warns Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert from the online publication Belnovosti, an agronomist, and a landscape designer.
Why you shouldn't plant walnuts in your dacha
Firstly, this tree grows quite large and requires a lot of space.
Walnut trees are quite capable of occupying a whole hundred square meters of land.
And pruning won’t solve the problem, because the more old wood the walnut has, the higher the yield.
Secondly, walnut will suppress nearby plantings.
The older the tree becomes, the worse it will be for garden crops to grow under and around it.
In addition, you need to select the variety very carefully. It must be zoned, otherwise the tree will not bear fruit.
