After the currants have spoiled us with an excellent harvest, the bushes need to be properly looked after.

Thanks to this, there will be a large number of healthy berries in the next season.

It is worth concentrating on four important procedures, advises the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", landscape designer and agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

What are we talking about?

Inspect the leaves

An experienced gardener always tries to carefully examine the currant foliage, especially after the harvest has been collected. It is at such moments that the risk of developing diseases and pest attacks is high.

If you remove the affected parts in a timely manner, the problem will not have time to affect the entire bush.

Trimming

Experienced gardeners try to carry out this important procedure almost immediately after they have collected the currants. It is best to use high-quality pruning shears so as not to harm the bush.

Nutritious "cocktail"

Currants need to be "treated" with a balanced composition so that the bush can restore its strength. Take 200 ml of ash per bucket of water, and also add a spoonful of potassium sulfate and superphosphate.

A bucket of the product is spent on each bush.

Oxygen saturation

It is recommended to carry out a high-quality loosening procedure using a good hoe. Access of oxygen to the root system will benefit the crop.
