Garlic cultivation technology is one of the simplest, but even in the process of caring for this crop, you can make a mistake.
Due to incorrect actions, the yield decreases - often the reason for the decrease in fruits is the excessive care of the owners.
What wrong actions can harm resistant garlic?
Let's look at the most common wrong actions.
These are the mistakes.
- Excessive soil moisture. Before the head is formed, irrigation is carried out in the first half of the growing season. After the head is formed, watering is not done even in hot weather.
- Liming. Garlic requires a pH reaction of at least 7. Lime should be added 2-3 times per season – 1 glass of slaked lime per 10 liters of water.
- Too much nitrogen. Garlic can be grown without any fertilizing. Excess nitrogen causes rapid growth of tops at the expense of head formation.
- Cleaning the arrows. This important operation should not be ignored.
- Twisting or trampling of tops. Damaged leaf integrity can lead to a decrease in the rate of head formation.
