How to fight aphids on cabbage: folk methods

Aphids reproduce almost instantly, and given the fact that all parts of cabbage are edible, no one wants to treat it with chemicals.

In this case, only folk remedies can help.

Summer residents warn that these methods are effective only as long as the number of pests is small.

1. A passive way to protect cabbage from aphids is to plant carrots, dill, and other umbelliferous crops between the rows of cabbage. All of them attract natural enemies of aphids.

2. You can also sprinkle the paths between the beds with wood shavings, in which earwigs like to hide.

3. You can also make an onion infusion by chopping the onions, pouring water over them, and letting them sit for half a day. When ready, strain the solution and use it for spraying.

4. You can mix potato and tomato tops, as well as nettles in equal parts, fill a bucket 1/3 full with this mixture and pour hot water over it.

After 2 days, the mixture is filtered and used for spraying.

5. You can brew 2-3 large hot pepper pods in a liter of boiling water, leave to infuse for a day. Then strain, bring the volume to 10 liters and use for spraying.

If aphids have already attacked cabbage last season, then you should not plant this crop in the same place.
