Every season, many summer residents are tormented by the same question: is it time to harvest onions from the beds?

The answer was given by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

Since we are talking about a guest from the southern regions, it is worth remembering that the harvest will definitely be stored well if you collect it when the soil has become dry and warm, and the earth has stopped sticking to the heads.

In such conditions, it will be easy to pull out the bulb by pulling it by the neck.

In addition, it is also worth focusing on external signs.

If you see that the green feather has fallen on at least half of the plants, this is a sign that it is time to start harvesting.

You don’t need to pay attention to the color of the feather – it can lie there even when it still pleases the eye with its rich green color.

But it wouldn’t hurt to check the necks of the onions – if they have become dry, it means that the bulbs have matured, gained weight and are waiting for the moment when they will be removed from the ground.
