The Main Reason for Poor Fruiting of Everbearing Raspberries: What Gardeners Overlook

Everbearing raspberries are in particular demand among gardeners.

This crop conquers everyone with its super-fast development and abundant fruiting.

In just one year, its bushes manage to grow and produce a decent harvest of large, juicy berries. But not all…

Sometimes, tempted by pictures of gorgeous raspberry clusters, gardeners buy seedlings, pamper and cherish them all season, and in the fall, instead of a rich harvest, they get only powerful green bushes with berries peeking out here and there. Why does this happen?

Experts explain: in most cases, poor raspberry fruiting is the result of improper plant maintenance.

And, first of all, incorrect pruning.

If in autumn all shoots are cut off at the root, then in spring new shoots begin to develop very actively.

And since remontant raspberries are more powerful than regular ones, they grow up to two meters and higher.

Gaining strength practically all summer, the greenery does not allow the berries to form on time and they simply do not have time to fill out and ripen by the end of the season.
