What's good about lupine: here's why experienced gardeners won't trade it for any other green manure

Only the lazy have not heard about the benefits of green manure, but which one should you choose to get the maximum benefit for your plot?

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained why more and more summer residents are choosing lupine for themselves.

The whole point is that its roots are able to penetrate to a depth of 1.5-2 m, even beyond the cultural soil layer.

Thus, the plant turns into a kind of “pump” that extracts monohydrogen phosphates to the top.

Lupine itself does not consume these minerals, but only accumulates them, which means that they will become available to the crops that will become the “successors” of lupine in this area.

In addition, having completed their life cycle, the lupine roots will loosen the soil, enriching it with oxygen, but harmful microflora will be destroyed.

This green manure has the ability to repel pests and destroy pathogenic forms of fungi and bacteria.

Finally, during the process of decomposition, lupine significantly reduces the acidity of the soil, turning it into neutral or slightly alkaline.
