The plant will die if no action is taken.
The first half of summer can bring a surprise to gardeners who grow pears.
For example, it is not uncommon for the tree's foliage to turn yellow during this period. Often, summer residents believe that it is all about watering. This problem is easy to solve, but it is not always just about moistening the soil.
An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told why a young pear tree can start to dry out in the summer.
If watering was done regularly, but the tree's leaves still turn yellow, it means that the plant has been affected by a disease. For example, it could be chlorosis or root rot.
In the case of pear, you first need to assess the likelihood of disease, since it is more drought-resistant than, for example, an apple tree.
Pear is a moisture-loving plant. But its peculiarity is in the root system, which goes deeper. Thus, the tree can extract moisture from the low soil horizons. Therefore, if the pear is affected by a disease, watering will not help it, but there is a risk of worsening the situation.
