As you know, as strawberries age, there are much fewer berries, and they are no longer as large as those from young bushes.
In this regard, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises to create a mother plant - this way you will be able to receive high-quality strawberry seedlings in a timely manner.
Let's remember what a mother plant is. It is nothing more than one or several bushes that grow separately. They are not harvested, but used only for reproduction.
To create a mother plant, you will need to prepare a bed and dig holes in it. Their depth should be 30-35 cm, and the distance between them should be 45-50 cm.
A mixture of compost and ash should be added to each hole.
Water the bed and place the seedlings in the planting holes, then sprinkle or water them with a small amount of rooting agent.
All that remains is to cover the seedlings with soil and press it down a little to compact the soil.
Please note: the growth point should not be deepened under any circumstances. It should be at the same level with the ground.
