Cherry trees can sit in one place for a long time without producing fruit. Sometimes they even bloom profusely in the spring, but the flowers either fall off or dry up.
All this is a consequence of mistakes made by the gardener. In some things he made a mistake when planting the tree, and in others he overlooked during seasonal care.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what could be the reason for the lack of berries on the cherry tree.
1. Incorrect choice of landing site.
Cherry needs a sunny place, protected from cold winds and with sufficient moisture. Groundwater should not be close to the surface.
2. Lack of nutrients in the soil.
Cherry needs sufficient nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. If the soil is poor in nutrients, the cherry may not bear fruit. It is also important to monitor acidity.
3. Incorrect pruning.
If the cherry tree is not pruned properly, it may stop bearing fruit. Pruning helps to shape the crown and stimulate the growth of new shoots.
4. Diseases and pests.
Cherry trees are susceptible to various diseases and pest attacks that can lead to reduced yields.
5. Adverse weather conditions.
Cherry trees may not bear fruit if the weather conditions are unfavorable, such as drought or very cold winters.
