Florists who are keen on growing orchids unanimously say that the plants require special care, which cannot be described in simple terms.

For example, one of the procedures necessary for orchids is acidification, notes the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

The result of such an “operation” is more shiny and fleshy leaves, an increase in flower stalks, and also the general health of the flower.

To prepare lemon water, which is used for acidification, you will need:

  • 1 g citric acid,
  • 1 liter of water.

As you might have guessed, both of these components need to be combined and mixed well so that the “lemon” dissolves.

By the way, instead of the citric acid alternative, you can use lemon juice. In this case, you will need 1 teaspoon of the "active substance".

Important note: the solution cannot be used when there are flowers on the plant, otherwise they will simply fall off.

Now about the main mistake that gardeners make when using lemon water.

Watering should not be done in the traditional way, but by immersion. First, spray the orchid with a spray bottle, then pour the lemon water into a suitable deep container, where you place the flower pot for 15 minutes.
