Conifers are increasingly common in garden plots, and this is understandable – they make the area look more noble and, in addition, can be used as a source of shade on hot days.
At the same time, the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh reminds: like other crops, conifers also need protection from numerous pests and diseases.
One of the problems that a gardener may encounter is rust.
If you notice brown spots on the needles and the needles have acquired a variegated color, you can be sure that the cause is rust.
Although the diagnosis is not fatal, the disease causes weakening, decreased resistance to other diseases, and also causes significant damage to the appearance of the plant.
Moreover, rust can easily spread from conifers to other fruit and ornamental crops. At risk are pears, barberries, lilacs and others.
According to experienced plant growers, specially created preparations, such as "Rakurs", which should be used in accordance with the instructions, help to cope with the disease.
