Pot volume
The volume of the flowerpot or container plays an important role. The bigger, the better. For example, ampelous petunia needs at least 5 liters of soil. And some of its varieties grow well in 10-liter containers.
Soil
Gardeners often use garden soil. But experienced gardeners recommend using looser and more nutritious soil that retains moisture well. Experts recommend using peat as a base.
Top dressing
Gardeners primarily feed shrubs, trees, vegetable crops and flowers in flowerbeds. But they often forget about flowers in hanging pots. And they need feeding no less than other plants.
Therefore, fertilizers are applied throughout the season or long-acting compounds are immediately added to the pot.
