There is an explanation for everything, but gardeners need to act proactively, otherwise they may be left without a harvest.
Strawberries are about to start bearing fruit, and in order for the berries to grow large and sweet, you need to remember what prevents you from growing and harvesting a quality crop.
Here are the most common mistakes gardeners make.
1. Incorrect landing
It is necessary to observe the interval between bushes and the distance between rows. The denser the planting, the less nutrients the bushes will get. Between bushes in a row, you need to leave 15-20 cm, and between rows 40-60 cm.
2. Watering
There may not be enough water, or there may be too much. Both are bad and harmful. In the first case, the fruits dry out, and in the second, rot and other diseases develop.
3. Fertilizers
They are introduced in compliance with the dosage, otherwise there is a risk of getting lush foliage and very few berries. Also, you should not get carried away with folk fertilizers, but introduce funds according to the schedule and instructions.
4. Pests
The first enemy of all cultivated plants is the weevil. It feeds on everything. It is a frequent guest in strawberry thickets. It is important to observe crop rotation and carry out timely processing.
5. Loosening
This procedure improves air exchange and the roots receive the necessary oxygen. It must be carried out carefully so as not to damage the root system.
