Wanting to get an environmentally friendly harvest, summer residents resort to various tricks, including when it comes to planting potatoes.

Just remember that not every piece of advice given by a neighbor is beneficial to the harvest of fruit and vegetable crops. Here is one such popular misconception.

It is believed that this additive does more harm to potatoes than good, so you need to know and remember what this crop likes and what it does not.

What does a potato like?

Of all the organic fertilizers, potatoes like manure the most, which should be added to the soil in the fall or early spring before digging the beds.

Then, when planting directly into the holes, it will be enough to add potassium and phosphorus.

What potatoes don't like

As for mistakes, farmers do not recommend using ash when planting potatoes.

The reason is this: this additive makes the soil alkaline, but the main mistake is that it disrupts the absorption of potassium.

The latter circumstance cannot but affect the harvest.
