After the emergence of shoots, the seedlings need special care. Friendly shoots can suddenly begin to dry out or turn yellow, and at the same time the growth of plants stops.

If the problem of bushes stretching seems clear and solvable, then yellowing and drying greenery is a clear distress signal.

What happens to young shoots and how to save the future harvest, reports the publication SB.BY.

Seedlings do not grow and turn yellow. Reasons

1. The simplest is a lack of moisture. Frightened gardeners, having read advice that under-watering is not as bad as over-watering, can dry out the soil. But this is not the only problem, and it is not difficult to recognize the cause in this case.

2. It is possible that the seedlings lack potassium, and this is not due to poor soil, but rather to its poor absorption.

The main reason is again water, if gardeners use tap water that has not been settled for irrigation.

The water should be soft, and rain or melted water is best for this.

What to do?

You can save the seedlings by foliar feeding. This will significantly increase the likelihood of absorbing the deficient potassium.

For feeding, use monophosphate or potassium sulfate.

It is also worth remembering that plants may lack elements such as magnesium, sulfur, nitrogen, etc.

It is important to be able to distinguish the signs and respond to these signals in a timely manner.
