Worms in raspberries are not a pleasant sight, but gardeners often encounter this problem. It is a shame that the parasites make themselves known only after the raspberries have ended up in a jar of compote.

Let's find out if it is possible to protect the raspberry harvest from pests using folk remedies?

First, let's figure out where worms come from in raspberries.

These are the offspring of pests that have successfully overwintered in the upper layer of soil, covered with fallen leaves, or living in weeds and raspberry bushes, etc.

As soon as flowering begins, parasites settle in the flowers and produce offspring, which then spoil the harvest.

How to protect raspberries

1. It is necessary to regularly carry out sanitary pruning, remove leaves for the winter, and regularly renew the mulch.

2. Before the buds open, treat with 3% Bordeaux mixture.

3. From folk methods you can dissolve 2 tbsp. soda in 10 liters of boiling water, wait until the water cools down, and use the solution for spraying every 5-7 days. The berries will not become dangerous to health, but there will be fewer worms.

4. You can dissolve 100 grams of mustard powder in water to get a mixture similar to sour cream, dissolve in 10 liters of water and let it sit for a day, and then use it for spraying.

5. A similar effect can be achieved using tobacco infusion (200 g of tobacco leaves per 10 liters of boiling water and leave for 24 hours).

And the last thing that helps the gardener is planting onions or garlic in raspberries.
