Some gardeners get a good harvest from honeysuckle without much care, but there will be many more berries if you apply spring fertilizing.
With the arrival of warm weather, the garden comes to life. Trees, bushes, flowers, weeds - everything starts to grow, filling the space with greenery.
Weeds can take care of themselves, but cultivated plants need the help of a gardener. Honeysuckle is no exception.
The bush needs fertilizing, which is best done three times per season: during bud break, before flowering, and during berry formation.
This approach provides experienced gardeners with an unprecedented harvest of honeysuckle.
How to feed honeysuckle
1. In spring, summer residents first of all apply nitrogen fertilizer. Honeysuckle will be provided with this macroelement by urea - 1 tbsp. per 10 liters of water.
2. Before flowering, the bush is fertilized with a complex fertilizer that contains three key elements - nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium. Use 2 tbsp. of fertilizer per 10 liters of water.
3. During the formation of berries, it is time for the third feeding. In 10 liters of water, dissolve 2 tbsp. nitrophoska and 1 tbsp. potassium sulfate.
Before adding any fertilizer, it is recommended to moisten the soil with plain water so as not to burn the roots. If the bush is young, then the volume is reduced by half (5 l of fertilizer). If you need to feed an adult plant, then double it (20 l).
