Not a single sprout will appear: what's wrong with pepper seeds

Three representatives of the nightshade family – peppers, tomatoes and eggplants – are rightly considered capricious crops by summer residents.

The reason is not only the diseases that await the seedlings after the shoots appear – it is simply impossible to grow strong and sturdy sprouts from bad seeds.

We will tell you about the reasons why pepper is called a capricious plant.

1. In fact, it all starts with the quality of the seeds. It is possible that they were simply of poor quality or expired.

The best results are obtained from seeds that have been lying for no more than 2 years since collection. In other cases, that is, after three years, the chances of a harvest will be significantly reduced, and after four years it is better not to even sow the seeds.

2. Pepper seeds need to be checked for germination, disinfected and prepared for planting, otherwise you will have to wait a long time for them to germinate.

3. And the last reason that makes summer residents go to the market for seedlings is poor quality soil. The soil should not only be nutritious, but also necessarily loose.

The same applies to transplanting seedlings. Peppers will not want to grow in beds with clay soil.
