Raspberries are demanding of soil composition, so without fertilizing you can’t even dream of a harvest.
Moreover, it is important to have time to introduce nutrient compounds in early spring. Let's try to figure out what is better to feed raspberry bushes with - organic or mineral developments, and what is the dosage.
1. Organics
Despite the abundance of the latest preparations, forage is still relevant. It is necessary to plan the application of nitrogen-rich fertilizers for early spring.
This could be a solution of chicken manure (1 kg per 10 liters of water, consumption of 5 liters of the composition per bush).
Another effective additive is prepared from manure (mature compost). You will need 1 kg of fertilizer for the same 10 liters of water. After mixing the ingredients, close the container with a lid and leave it for 2-3 days in a warm place. The resulting concentrate is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10 and watered under the root.
It is important that organic compounds do not get on the root, so they retreat at least 20 cm from the trunk.
2. Mineral fertilizers
These compositions are easier to prepare, easier to follow the dosage, there is less chance of infecting the plant if pathogens or pest larvae remain in the organic matter.
Once the snow melts, add the same nitrogen, and when the berries begin to form, add phosphorus and potassium.
In early spring, urea is most often used (20 g per 10 l of warm water). Fertilizing is carried out after the solution has cooled.
To neutralize acidity, add limestone or dolomite flour (500 g per 1 sq. m).
By applying timely fertilizers at the beginning of spring and then according to schedule, you can count on active growth and development of bushes, and therefore, a bountiful harvest.
