How to protect fruit trees from birds: spraying won't help

All summer residents who grow cherries or sweet cherries sooner or later face one problem.

An invasion of birds leads to the destruction of 30-90% of the harvest, which was about to end up on the table or become the basis for jam.

But instead of enjoying the aromatic berries, they have to be thrown into the compost or trash.

How to protect trees

Spraying with chemicals will not help, because birds have no sense of smell. And no one will dare to treat almost ripe fruits with preparations.

It is better to leave chemicals aside, but do not despair. There are two options that will save almost the entire harvest. In some cases, even these methods fail and birds manage to peck up to 10% of the fruit.

The first method is more expensive and troublesome, but very effective. The net will protect the trees from birds. There are ready-made products in garden stores, but you can also make them yourself.

The second option is shiny objects. Tinsel and CDs will reflect light in the sun, scaring away uninvited "guests". But you need to attach it better, otherwise the wind will scatter the tinsel around the area.
