In the case of breeding petunia seedlings, you cannot do without picking. This procedure, according to observations of flower growers and gardeners, leads to stress, which means that the plants need to be supported.

But not everyone knows about the intricacies of fertilizing after picking, especially novice amateur gardeners.

Agronomist, landscape designer, botanical artist and art therapist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told the online publication Belnovosti about which fertilizers are best to use during this period.

Top dressing after picking

1. Do not immediately indulge the plantings with nitrogen. It is much better to add complex fertilizers for flowers "Kristalon", "Kemira", "Clean Sheet" or others.

Spraying with a urea solution (4-5 granules per 1 liter of water) will also not hurt.

2. The next thing that can help plants take root after picking is a rooting agent together with succinic acid.

Second feeding

It is carried out 7-10 days after picking.

During this time, the root system should strengthen and the seedlings should start growing. Flowers that have already adapted to the new place are fed with complex fertilizer.

It should contain equal amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Examples include nitroammophoska.

Plants that have not yet recovered from stress should be fed with calcium nitrate. The solution is prepared from ½ teaspoon of fertilizer per 10 liters of water.
