Cabbage is a representative of the so-called borscht set, which all gardeners, experienced and novice, are sure to grow in their backyards.

While much has been said about preparing seeds of heat-loving crops, not everyone knows what to do with cruciferous seeds.

Let's figure out how to prepare cabbage seeds for sowing seedlings and when this needs to be done.

Deadlines

In this regard, it is necessary to focus on the varietal characteristics of the crop and the recommendations of the lunar calendar of the gardener and vegetable grower. Everything else is regulated by the rules of agricultural technology.

Here's how to do it. The easiest option is to soak it in hydrogen peroxide.

There is a more common method - a pink solution of potassium permanganate. In both cases, 20 minutes is enough.

After soaking the seeds, you can pour a solution of potassium permanganate onto the soil where you plan to sow them – for disinfection.

Germination

Place the treated seeds in a container with a damp paper napkin on the bottom. Cover the seeds with another napkin, spray it with a spray bottle, cover with a lid and put it in a warm place.

On the third day, white sprouts appear - this means that you can plant in prepared soil.
