Even if the currant bears fruit relatively well, you want the berries to be tasty, sweet and large.

To achieve this, the bush needs to be fed in a certain way.

What fertilizers are important to pay attention to?

Starch

Not all summer residents know that potato starch is one of the most useful fertilizers for currants. The substance promotes active growth of new high-quality shoots, helps to build up a powerful mass, and significantly improves the taste of berries.

Also, thanks to starch, currants grow larger. To prepare the product, you will need to mix three hundred grams of starch in a saucepan with three liters of water. Bring the liquid to a boil and simmer over low heat.

Mix the resulting concentrate with a bucket of water. Before applying fertilizers, you should always water abundantly, reminds the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", landscape designer and scientist-agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

For each plant, we allocate three liters of the prepared product. We apply the composition first before flowering. Then we wait until the fruits begin to fill out and water again.

Ash

It is no secret that ash is actively used by experienced gardeners on the plot. It can also have a positive effect on the currant harvest.

For three liters of ash, take a bucket of water and wait 48 hours. Then, for each liter of concentrate, take a whole bucket of water and apply the fertilizer.
