Find out about the most common mistakes gardeners make when growing cabbage seedlings.
The future harvest depends on the quality of the seedlings.
1 error
Rooting of seedlings occurs from 20 to 45 days after sowing. Three to four leaves should grow on the seedlings.
If you violate the rooting time and start replanting the seedlings, the heads of cabbage will not form well and will grow small.
2 error
Cabbage requires at least 15 hours of light per day. If there is not enough light, additional lighting should be installed.
After sowing the seeds, the optimal temperature for growing seedlings should be 20 degrees.
When leaves appear on the seedlings, the temperature can be reduced by 5 degrees.
3 error
Cabbage loves moisture, but not fanatically. Over-moistened soil will lead to rotting and fungal infection.
If you grow cabbage in special cassettes or peat, use a spray bottle for watering.
If you grow cabbage in hotbeds and greenhouses, install drip irrigation.
