What mistakes gardeners make to prevent zucchini from developing: you shouldn't do this

As you know, even an unpretentious zucchini will refuse to yield a harvest if it is grown in the shade - this crop loves the sun and does not get along with drafts.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh listed other mistakes that summer residents make due to inexperience in the process of growing zucchini.

So, if the plant leaves are lying on the ground, be prepared for mold to accumulate under them and pests to appear.

It is not recommended to plant zucchini on peat and clay soils. Suitable conditions are neutral or slightly alkaline, which means that the soil should be loamy or sandy loam.

Another common mistake is neglecting feeding.

Remember: for a good harvest, the plant should be “treated” with fertilizers containing nitrogen 10 days after planting.

Before flowering, it is time to use mullein infusion, while during flowering, potassium fertilizer should be used.

For the fruiting period, a suitable option is a mixture consisting of urea, potassium sulfate, superphosphate and water.

Finally, do not forget about the rules of crop rotation. Never plant zucchini in beds where cucumbers, tomatoes, pumpkins or zucchini were previously grown.
