The harvest of plums, raspberries, cherries or cherries can be an unpleasant surprise due to the infestation of berries with worms.

Although worms do not harm human health, enjoying a harvest of berries with larvae is a dubious pleasure.

How to Get Rid of Worms in Berries

Salt is considered one of the most effective substances that repels worms.

To prepare the solution, mix 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 liter of water. Choose a water temperature of 15-20 degrees on average. Too hot water will speed up the spoilage of berries, too cold water will "slow down" the activity of worms.

It is important that the solution completely covers the berries and allows the worms to float to the top, after which the water can be drained. When soaking the berries in the solution, remove their stalks. This way, the water will be able to seep into the years and affect the larvae hiding inside.

The exposure time depends on the size of the berries and their density. Large specimens should be left in salt water for several hours.

Berries are also soaked in a herbal solution. Yarrow, dandelion, etc. are suitable for this.

For the solution, take 1 glass of chopped herbs and pour 3 liters of boiling water over them, let it brew and wait until it cools completely.

Place the berries in the solution and let them sit for 20-30 minutes, depending on their condition. Be careful when choosing herbs for the solution. Some of them contain toxic or conditionally toxic substances that are dangerous to health.
