Since eggplants are heat-loving vegetables, which are characterized by a fairly long growing season, it is impossible to get excellent results from this crop on your plot without growing seedlings.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told us what kind of soil should be used for these purposes.

So, eggplants love to “bask” in loose soil that has a neutral or slightly acidic reaction.

If you decide to prepare the soil yourself, you need to stock up on the following components:

  • river sand;
  • peat;
  • humus;

Place all ingredients into a suitable container and mix thoroughly.

Experienced gardeners also recommend another option for a soil mixture suitable for eggplants, which consists of compost, turf and rotted cow manure.

Important: proper soil preparation is a necessary, but not the only measure in the process of growing eggplants.

Do not forget to disinfect the molds intended for seedlings, and do not ignore such a procedure as soaking the seeds.
