Many summer residents often think about how to store fertilizers in winter only in the spring, when most of the supplies have already frozen.

We will tell you what to do with such additives and how to properly store bulk and liquid nutritional supplements.

Dry bulk additives

If the powders were stored in a hermetically sealed package, then the cold is not a problem for them. The main thing is that the expiration date has not expired, and the composition is not affected by air humidity.

Therefore, the main condition is storage in a dry room at a temperature from 35 degrees below zero to 30 degrees above zero.

If we are talking about biological preparations, then, having frozen, they can lose their properties. Without losing their useful properties, they can withstand a decrease to 5-10 degrees of frost.

Liquid fertilizers

Here everything is much more complicated. If the mixtures have reached crystallization, only mineral fertilizers can survive the winter without loss of quality.

They are stored under the same conditions as dry mixes.

If these are biofertilizers, the microorganisms contained in them will simply die in frost. For these compounds, the critical point is 0 degrees Celsius. Therefore, the preparations "Baikal EM-1", "Ecomik Urozhainy", "Azotovit" and others should be taken to a warm room for the winter.
