Researchers from Edith Cowan University have shown in a study involving 18 volunteers that high blood pressure can be controlled with the help of vegetables.

The results of the work were published in the BMC Medicine publication.

Research by scientists

The age of the experiment participants was 68 years. All of these volunteers suffered from high blood pressure.

Scientists have suggested a special vegetable diet for them.

Some were fed pumpkin, nightshade and other vegetables, while others were fed cruciferous vegetables.

Changes in well-being were documented.

What we managed to find out

It turned out that eating zucchini, tomatoes, potatoes, and other vegetables could not affect health through diet.

Only the group of people who consumed cruciferous vegetables were able to experience any significant improvements.

Scientists recommend that hypertensive patients pay attention to popular types of cabbage, including white cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, etc.

No less useful are turnips, radishes, horseradish, as well as arugula, spinach and watercress.
