Can you eat potatoes on a diet?

As Pisareva explained, potatoes are considered harmful due to their high starch content.

However, in reality, the starch in potatoes is processed slowly and, due to this, does not participate in the formation of fats.

Energy is also expended during its absorption, the nutritionist noted.

The sugar level, the doctor continued, rises and falls gradually, which gives a feeling of satiety.

The calorie content of potatoes, according to the expert, is small - 80 calories per 10 g.

It can be used even in dietary nutrition, said Pisareva.

The specialist clarified that everything depends on the cooking method.

Boiled potatoes with a little salt are healthy, fried ones are not.
